Cannot get the globe off of my Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan. Help?

I have a Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan. I tried to add a picture. I cannot get the globe off to change the lightbulb. I have tried. My boyfriend has tried. We asked at Home Depot and they did not know. Any tricks we are missing?

It is a flush mount fan. Brushed nickel. Has a funky light bulb, not standard. When i bought the fan, they suggested i buy ectta bulbs. Has remote. Has an option for blue night light. I cannot find it anywhere for help.

Thank you. Andrea aka "in the dark"

The globe should come off by pushing up slightly and rotating counter-clockwise.  Sometimes it's helpful to use one of the rubbery pads used to help open a jar.  If you don't have one of those you can try a silicone hot pot pad or even a pair of work gloves with a "grippy" surface.

You might need to "gang up" on that fan. One of you needs to hold the fan while the other turns the globe counter clockwise 1/4 turn with a "grippy" cloth.

If the globe turns, but doesn't spin off, you might have to pry it straight down and off. Use a plastic scraper or spatula to gently pry it off. This should only be attempted if the globe spins, but remains attached.

While you're up there, see if that slotted metal ring around the globe can come off. Retainers might be hidden under it.
