Garage door question

We have a 2-car Clopay garage door and want to replace top panel with one with windows, is that do-able?

If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to replace just the top panel with one with windows.  That's certainly doable and I might suggest contacting Coplay to see what options are available for your door (having the model number of your door might be helpful when you make the call).  They can then point you to a distributor in your area, which may include Home Depot.

Hello DomP, Adam is correct, we can order just the top panel provided your door is a Clopay brand garage door. The reason is that different brands of garage doors have different grooves at the top and bottom where they interlock, so a Wayne-Dalton garage door panel may not work with a Clopay or vice versa. 

The purpose for the groove is to prevent air infiltration and it adds strength when the wind is blowing against it. The picture below shows the tongue & groove between the two panels, this tongue & groove can be different between different models and/or manufactures, so this is why you need know who makes your door and the model.
