Hampton Bay ceiling fan UC7087T

Hi there. We recently moved into a house with a Hampton Bay fan (model # UC7087T, according to the remote), but we're running into a few issues with it. For one, the fan is currently stuck going the wrong direction. We've tried using the FOR/REV button on the remote in various stages (when the fan is off, when it's running, etc.) and it makes a clicking noise, slows down, then immediately starts up again going the same direction. We also can't get the fan to switch into a medium speed. When the remote is on high, the fan registers and goes into high speed. However, if we use the remote to turn it to medium, the fan goes to the lowest speed speed (the same speed as when we use the remote to turn it on low). The remote seems to be working for other things (like the lights and setting the temperature), but we can't get the fan to reverse or to go at a medium speed. I can't even find a user manual online, so I'm guessing this is an older model that maybe isn't sold anymore. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hey liz,

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community.

It sounds like you may have an issue with the receiver inside the ceiling fan, or quite possibly the fan speed capacitor switch.

In either case, your safest bet and solution would be to contact Hampton Bay directly with the number below. Make sure to have not just your model number, but also the SKU and UPC listed on top of the motor housing of the fan to ensure you get the correct parts and information.
