Hi Ivyforever!
The first step toward restoring your mirror frame will be to remove the mirror and store flat.
Once you've eliminated the prospect of damaging the mirror, the repair becomes much easier.
At the store, you'll find numerous variations of gold metallic spray paint.
Select the one that matches your expectation for the mirror frame ... also select a plastic drop cloth.
Work over the plastic drop cloth in an open, outdoor area and place supports under the mirror frame to suspend it an inch or two above the plastic.
Spray one light coat and wait about 45-minutes before applying the next.
Three light coats will produce better results than one heavy coat.
Allow the mirror frame to dry overnight and re-assemble the next day.
NOTE:
Most paints contain a protective sheen.
However, if you prefer to add more protection, simply purchase and apply a spray clear coat using the same timeline and technique.
