I have a desert rose and it has bloomed all summer.

The leaves just started turning yellow.  Is this normal?

Hi Donna.

No, the leaves turning yellow is not normal for your Desert Rose during its blooming season May thru June and then again into the fall. But this depends.

How often do you water your Desert Rose?  Too much water can account for the yellowing of the leaves.  You soil should be dry about 1 - 2 inches deep before watering.  Do you keep the Desert Rose outside?  This plant does not handle the cold weather well at all.

Toward the cooler fall season, your Desert Rose will lose its leaves and go dormant for the cooler months.  Just be sure to protect your plant if the temperatures get below 20
F.  You will need to protect your Desert Rose from the frost or colder temperatures.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
