Hello Amms.  Welcome to the Community!

In-store receipts can be retrieved if they were either paid by a credit card by tracing the card number, or were on a will-call, special order or delivery where the order number can be traced.  Receipts paid in cash cannot be traced back.  This research would be done in the store where you purchased the items at the Special Services desk.

Hello AMMS,

Your local Home Depot store can reprint receipts made with credit cards or on special order agreements, as Chris indicated from different Home Depot locations, as long as you can provide the location you purchase the products from.

Creating a free Home Depot Pro Extra account will allow you to tract all your purchases and receipt along with many other benefits.

Thanks for your inquiry.

Hi AMMS!

Hopefully these will help with your questions "Instore receipt? Is it still true you cannot retrieve an instore receipt if you are not registered?"...

How to Get eMailed Receipts

You can get Home Depot receipts emailed to you (it isn't required to have a Home Depot "My Account"). When you are checking out at the card reader, just look for the prompt that asks if you would like your receipt emailed to you. It will still print out the paper receipt for you as well!

It is super easy to receive your receipts if you are the Home Depot Pro member.

1. If you are not a member of Home Depot Pro, then it's a great idea to become one. You can find details here: Home Depot Pro Sign UP

2. Click on the receipt and print.

Here is one benefit of being a Home Depot Pro member, if you give them your phone number and use it when you purchase the materials, THD will save the receipts for 24 months and email it to you too! So no more snap, scan or email receipts to your bookkeeper.

Check out more perks of being a pro member - you can read on this blog:11 Benefits of Home Depot Pro

Hi AMMS,

Just to add to the above info, you don’t have to worry now about finding your in-store Home Depot receipts. If you want, you can have it done automatically! You can do reprints or export to Quickbooks or Xero, Excel, Google Sheets, and more with the Greenback app. Greenback automatically imports every detail —even a PO#/Job Name of your Home Depot receipts (some setup may be required). Greenback even helps categorize your receipts during syncs to your accounting platform and attaches the original pdf. It prepopulates fields with data from original receipts not receipt photos. There’s a free plan or bulk export tool for high-volume paid users. You don’t have to be a contractor to sign up. Check it out at Greenback.com.
