No Smoke Alarm Circuit Breaker

I just bought a home built in 2001.  It has 8 hardwired, inter-connected smoke alarms.  There is no circuit breaker in the service panel that kills AC power to the alarms....only the main breaker will shut off their AC power.  Where are the alarms getting their AC power?

Are you saying there is no labeled breakers in the service panel for the smoke detectors or you've tried shutting off breakers and can't locate the one for the smoke detectors?  Unless you want to invest in a circuit tracer, the only thing to do is try the breakers one at a time.  If your smoke detectors have a battery back-up, it might not be readily apparent that they've lost power.
