Hello there SKI2264!

Thanks for posting your question on the community here. Metal roofing install is divided into 2 categories: R-panel metal roofing and V-crimp roofing. The V-crimp is easier to install usually because theres no lap screws to place in the panels. Just like any project that requires area to be covered, make sure to measure out the areas to covered first and allowing 3-6 inches overhang for rainfall. While I can get into posting pics and more in-depth instructions, I will give you an external link that gives much better clarity on tools needed, tips, etc. Here is the link:

Instructions on how to install metal roofing

Remember at any time you are uncomforable or unsure about some steps, be sure to contact a reputable local roofer/installer. Also, make sure to have the proper safety equipment and especially be mindful of any steep pitches in the roof, as those types of projects are typically done by a professional roofer. Hope this helps you out and good luck with your project.

Awesome question. After doing some research I noticed that these 2 styles have a difference in them. sheet-metal-roofing has an awesome blog talking all about it.
