Toe drain/stoper on my American Standard whirlpool won't stay down - let's water out.

Have a fairly new American Standard whirlpool tub, seldom used.  Noticed that the stopper (toe tapper type) won't stay down.  Can this be repaired, replaced?  What type of repair person would do this work?

Hello DDBird and welcome to the community!

If the part that is broken is a genuine American Standard then I would suggest you contact them at 1-800-442-1902.

If the part is not American Standard  then you can remove it yourself, it just unscrews! Grip the top portion and turn it counter-clockwise, if it's slippery, try wearing some latex or rubber gloves. Keep turning it until comes off, then bring it into the Home Depot for a replacement.

Hi DDBird, sorry for the delay. I found a video to help you get the old Toe Drain/stopper out, check this out.
