Using my Paypal account

Explain how I can use my Paypal account to pay for my in store purchase.

Hi Kathy,

 

I'm Jen, from The Home Depot.  To use paypal in our store you must first register and obtain a pin number.  You may do that by logging into https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/use-paypal-in-stores.

Once activated, you will need to use your phone number and pin number at the registers.

That link is no good either.  It bounces you over to how to ACCEPT payments in your store as if you are a business owner.

What you want to do is login to Paypal then click on settings (at this point in time that's a gear icon).  Then go to SECURITY and in there you will find options to attach a mobile phone to your account.  Do that THEN setup your pin.

However this is all much easier using the Paypal mobile app.  Login, go into settings and do all the same stuff.  On the website I had nothing but trouble getting the links to work.  Probably a browser incompatibility.

Something to watch out for, when you link a phone to your account it will send you a text message to verify your phone.

Warning,  I set it all up and still got denied.   To make it work, I try the checkout, get denied, have to know by some miracle to call a unknown number because Home Depot Security requirements require extra information.

I did all of that and I've still been declined the last 4 times I've tried to use paypal to checkout

For anyone still running into this, and seeing as @Jen_HD_BOS and HomeDepot doesn't seem to be monitoring their own responses, please find the link below that I have located for this answer.


Step 1:
Go to your PayPal account profile.

Step 2:
Confirm your mobile number within your PayPal profile.

Step 3:
Create a 4-digit Mobile PIN by logging into your PayPal.com account, going to your profile and clicking SECURITY to set up your mobile PIN.

Step 4:
Immediately start paying with PayPal at the register using your mobile number and PIN.

Hello all, know this is a oldish thread, was wondering if anyone else has been having issues with paypal?  We use it all the time, but the last week, after entering our phone number it never asks us for the pin, nor gives us a error.  It just cycles to the approve amount view.

Anyone else seeing this or have a idea?

Same issue happening to me. I have checked paypal settings and every thing is set up right. I have been using paypal in store for a long time but now its not working and I have to pay with another credit card. The cashiers don't have a clue about what the problem is.
