Hi Lindwal50,

I think you are asking how to replace the fill and flush valves, is that correct?

The process is relatively easy, I have enclosed below project guides for you to review.

Quick question,

My toilet bowl doesn't flush everything thoroughly. If I just press the handle down once for a few seconds, it flushes maybe about 1/4 of it but if I press and hold the handle down for more than 5 seconds, it flushes completely.
But it fills the bowl up with water and than flushes out. I would like for it to be like one quick flush, instead of holding down on the handle for more than 5 seconds. Do I need to replace fill and flush valves? Should I buy a snake tool to make sure its not clogged?

Hi Ealvarez9158,

Based on your description of the problem, I would say you have a blockage in your  toilet or drain line.

Try using a toilet auger to clean your toilets passageway. If that doesn't work, have a plumber snake

the line out to the main.

Trying to save some money due to the holidays around the corner. Can I buy main line cleaner or a snake and do it myself?

ealvarez9158,

Toilet augers are less than $ 10.00 at the Home Depot, if that doesn't work, you can rent a snake at you local HD Store.

Hi ealvarez9158,

The symptoms you describe, holding handle down for five-second to ensure full flush, are easily fixed by simply replacing your existing flapper with PerforMax adjustable flapper.

Simply adjust the flapper to "Max" and the flapper will float open longer, allowing your tank to empty and the toilet to flush completely ... without holding the handle down.

How easy could it be?!?

Ask your local Plumbing Associate to show you PerforMax adjustable flapper.
