My family has been in the paint contracting business for 105 years in America. My grandfather brought the trade with him from Denmark at the start of the last century. There has been a continuum generation from then to now. I left the family business in 2005 due to family considerations. The next generation was ready to take over and "it was time", besides, after a lifetime in Chicago, Portland and the West looked attractive. Not to detract from Chicago, it is a great world class city!
One of my hobbies is answering painting and construction questions on the "This Old House" website. To date, I have about 2000 postings there. I have also had minor articles in the "This Old House" Magazine. Some of my postings were used as part of their advertising for the magazine.
