Was your question how thick should the plywood be?  If so, 5/8" should be plenty for storage of light weight items and a typical adult.  Make sure the plywood (or you can also use OSB) ends on a joist (don't let it hang into the space between joists).  Screw or nail it down so it can't shift.  Also, be careful not to compress any insulation.

Hello Umpire, and welcome to the Community!

If you can determine how much you need, we have a variety of types and thicknesses of plywood to use in your attic and we can cut it for you if you need it in smaller pieces.
