Ana White + Home Depot's Do-It Herself Workshops = Let's Do This!

Hello everyone,

As you may or may not know, Ana White and The Home Depot have been partners for a while now empowering anyone who is interested in DIY projects in and around their home.

So who is Ana White? She is a homemaker and mom from Alaska, blogger and author of the book The Handbuilt Home, and also has her own website, www.ana-white.com.

Be sure to view her website, it is an invaluable resource for great plans so you can get started on just about anything you can think of for sprucing up your home!

It's more than just building furniture, it's getting great information and tips on how to make it truly your own.

The Home Depot store I work at here in Atlanta was honored recently to have Ana stop by and teach personally a great Do It Herself Workshop!

There was a large turnout, and it was a thrill seeing Ana teaching how to build a rolling storage cart. Prizes were given out, and everyone left with the know-how of how to build this great looking project!

My fellow associates Lauren (the co-host of the workshop), Danny, Pete and our store manager Ann-Marie, the good folks at Ryobi and I all assisted her at the workshop.

Several participants used the tools and materials to build the cart, which made the workshop truly 'hands on'.

She is a great teacher and made the women who attended the workshop feel comfortable and more importantly, confident that they can build practical working furniture, shelves, and many more home projects!

To recap what Ana went over at the event for building this moving storage shelf, you can click here to view a video regarding how to build it!

Even here on our forums, www.community.homedepot.com, we've taken to some of Ana's projects and posted them! One is an Adirondack Chair we painted, inspired by a previous Do-it-Herself Workshop.

You can view it here. We've been inspired by her work on our team, so it was personally an unforgettable experience to meet Ana in person at this workshop.

If you happened to miss this Do-It-Herself Workshop this month, no worries! Every Home Depot store hosts this FREE workshop the 3rd Thursday of each month, just for women! Click here for more information.

In fact, we have various DIY and/or Kids Workshops almost each week at your local store. You can contact your local store or visit our workshop main page here for more information.

And remember, anyone who has any home improvement or workshop-related questions, feel free to ask us here!

Regards,
Joseph
