Best way to clean a wood serving tray that has a brass inlay

We have a wooden serving tray with inlaid brass.  The brass needs cleaning.  What's the best method to clean it without damaging the wood?

Hey 36093,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the community!

While there are some brass cleaners out there that could adversely affect the wood, a lot of them actually are safe to use with wood.

One that is shown and linked below is one example. Click on the image for more information.

We also sell another one..this one below is available at your local Home Depot.

I would suggest that with any polish/cleaner you use, first try a very small amount on an inconspicuous area of the tray first. The wood should be protected via polyurethane or similar clear coat.

However, try a small amount to ensure no adverse happen to the wood areas.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or comments.
