Black vinyl adhesive

I removed ceramic tiles and have black adhesive all over my basement floor. When i went to Home Depot today, to find a cement product to level out parts of the floor, 2 sales associates told me I had to grind the adhesive so that the cement will adhere to the cement floor. I grinded half the floor, about 80 square foot, and as i am cleaning up the mess (lots and lots of dust everywhere). I just looked up and found out that most likely this has asbestos, which i feel the sales associates should not have told me to grind the floor. Now I am not sure what to do. how to adhere the concrete, and how to get up the rest of the black adhesive?

Please help

Hello kareyLs1,

Welcome to the site.:smileyvery-happy:

There are asbestos test kits in the store and online so you can make sure you are safe. Usually you only have to worry about older homes.

Hope this helps
