Building fire pit/BBQ grille

I saw on diy network that they built a BBQ pit and fire pit in one. It was ,made out of bricks and was probably 3 feet high. Anyone know of any plans to build one? I want to put grates on it to cook on it. But also use it as fire pit when it's chilly Thanks Jathan

I am not sure if Home Depot has Techo-Bloc as one of its suppliers but that company builds kits for various Patio components like planters, firepits, BBQ enclosures, which are not too difficult to assemble, in just about any combination of sizes, heights/widths and caps. The grill components you will need to mix and match, Their company website has samples and examples of the kits to give you an idea of what one of their firepit kits look like. You can make it taller or smaller larger depending on what interests you!! I would have included the specific link but this forum interface doesn't allow that capability.

Greetings Jathan, and Welcome to the How-To-Community!!!

My name is Mike and I work with the Home Depot in Chicago and I have a few ways to help get you started on that project.  When it comes to building your own fire pit, this is a great DIY project.  There are many different ways to tackle a project like this.  A few of the other members on here have posted some great ways to construct a fire pit out of different ways.  I will include some links in here for some more info on them.

Here are some other fire pits that we carry as well.

Thanks for the input Jrvalen.  We do not carry that exact brand that you mentioned, but we do have something similar on HomeDepot.com that will deffently help.

If you run into any problems or have any questions please feel free to write back.  Also before you start your project if you could post some pictures along the way that would be great!!!

Fire Pits are also a great add on feature when installing Patios, Walls, and Landscaping that will make your design stand out. The installation is fast and uncomplicated; we start with  BBQ Kit.it is made of  3  to 5 feet high.
