Can I use a wax to even out the surface of a painted wall?

Can I use a wax to even out the surface of a painted wall?  I applied joint compound and sanded 3 times.  I then applied 3 coats of a latex-based primer, and then 4 coats of Rustoleum dry erase paint.

The finished project feels pretty smooth, but writing with the dry erase markers is easier than erasing.  I can still feel texture from the coats of mud and paint.  Does anyone have thoughts on wax for evening the surface further?

Thanks,

Ryan

I can't imagine wax doing anything and would likely cause problems with the markers.  You needed to sand more and to a finer grit after the drywall mud coat(s) and between layers of paint.
