Hi there cubchalm,

Welcome to the community and thanks for your question!

Yes, you can apply mosaic glass tile over a painted wall provided you get the right materials for the job.

And the best solution for putting glass over an existing (I'm assuming drywall) wall without tearing it out is an item called SimpleMat.

Using SimpleMat

This type of mat works very well for situations like yours. The image above was from a tile project I did last month and it worked great for my tile install. All you need to do is to make sure your wall is clean and level.

Once you do this the one side of SimpleMat, once it is applied to the wall, will stick to it. The other side simply peels off (think of it like one big piece of double-sided tape) and the tile goes on top of it.

It really is that easy to do. use SimpleMat and install it per the instructions, and you can place any mosaic glass tile you wish on the wall!

I hope this has helped you out, and let us know if we can assist you any further.

Cheers,

Joseph
