Can you cut a glass paneled French Door?

I just bought a glass paneled French door that I’d like to replace a door I’m my apartment with. The measurements are 80”x30”.  The door that’s currently hanging there is 79”x29.5”.  It looks like there’s a little bit of room on the length and it may not need to be shortened, but as far as the width, the space between the door frame is exactly 30”.  Is it possible to trim a glass paneled door without breaking all the glass?  I don’t know the first thing about it and can’t find any info online.

Hello Joeporter, and welcome to the Community!

We unfortunately don't cut doors, we don't have the ability and it would void the manufacturer warranty. The Home Depot nearest to you can special order a door to the size you need.

Thanks for posting

It’s certainly possible to trim, even a French door, with the right equipment and skill set.  From what you describe, it sounds like you don’t have either.  I would suggest:

  1. Hire a local carpenter to trim and hang the door.
  2. Carefully measure your existing door and then go to the millwork department of your local Home Depot and have them order the door for you.
