Hey johnihong,

Thank you for joining us on the community, welcome!

It will depend on what kind of carbon monoxide detector you purchase that will determine how it can be installed.

Several of them can be installed like a smoke alarm, hardwired with a battery backup in the ceiling.

At the minimum, you should install carbon monoxide, also known as CO detectors, in each bedroom of your home. Placing them in kitchen and living areas are a good choice.

Lots of CO detectors we sell can be plugged in or have a battery backup, so no wiring is needed. This one shown below is both, which is good to have if the power goes off. Click on it below to find out more information.

If you use this kind of CO detector, simply place the batteries inside it and plug into a receptacle...it's that easy!

Let us know if you have any other questions,

Cheers

Joseph
