Ceiling fan blowing the same bulb

Hi,

I have a problem that I cannot resolve. We have a ceiling fan in the bedroom that has a 2 bulb light kit on it. The problem I have is one bulb will only last about a week before it blows.

It's always the same socket that blows the bulb. The lights do not flicker and everything looks fine when I first replace the bulb(s). I have tried 2 new bulbs, moving the bulb that did not blow to the bad? socket and putting a new one in the good? socket. No matter what it always blows the bulb in that same socket.

Any advice on what to check would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Miggo,

Thanks for your question and for joining us here on the community.

You did not say what specific light bulb you were using, nor if you had this on a dimmer/fan remote control.

If you used various types of light bulbs and did not exceed the 60 watt maximum (some fixtures have a 40 watt maximum), then the culprit is most likely a bad socket or wiring inside the fan.

However, check and make sure the bulb you use, if they are being dimmed, are rated for being dimmable and do not exceed the rated wattage rated for the ceiling fan.

Let us know, and we can get you to a quick solution,

Joseph
