Ceiling fan not working

Worked one day- the next it did not. We can turn the light of the ceiling fan on and off via wall switch and pull chain but not by using the remote. The fan itself does not turn on with either the wall switch, pull chain or remote. Please help!

Hey SI,

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community!

From what the symptoms sound like, you may have a receiver that went out. However, did you first check the batteries and place new ones in your remote? If you did, then I'd still lean towards it being a bad receiver.

The first thing you'll need to see is who is the manufacturer of your fan. Almost all have a logo stamped on the side of the motor housing. Even if it doesn't, you can see the make of it on top of the motor housing. This sticker has all the SKU/Model/UPC information needed to find out who made it.

This is very important, as some receivers are built into the housing and are not easily replaced and sold in our stores. However, if you give us the information on top of the fan, we can get to the bottom of your fan issue.

Keep us updated, and we can get a solution for you.
