      How to cut and install cement panels?

Hi cwhitejr1,

 

I assume you are referring to Hardibacker cement backer board.

 

You can use a carbide tipped scoring tool to score and snap the panels, or a circular saw with a diamond blade to cut the panels.

 

To install the panels use galvanized roofing nails, or corrosion resistant wafer head screws.

 

Allow 1/8 inch gap between all walls and cabinets, use modified thin set and fiberglass tape to seal all joints.

 

This applies to Hardibacker brand cement board, if you are using another brand following manufactures instructions.
