Central heat and air installation

We have a much older home, and it has always had wall untis for cold air, and a fire place for heat. How big of a project would it be to install central heat and air into this older home that has never had it before. There is crawl space under the home, and an attic. I'm sure it would be a costly project but curious of how possible it would be...

The biggest challenge is running the duct work.  That's likely going to require opening the walls and possibly doing some additional framing to accommodate the ducts (which will also necessitate drywall and painting).  There are far too many variable to even begin a guesstimate.  You're best bet is to get some quotes from licensed HVAC contractors who have experience doing that kind of work.
