Custom Closet Doors

We have 2 closets that we want to replace the doors but the openings are taller than the standards, about 95 inches. Where can I get these doors that won't break the bank around South Florida?

Thank you.

Greetings,

My name is Tom, known here in the community as HD 116. I have had a similar issue in completing a basement that was framed with 9 foot ceilings and tall storage areas.

There are several ways to address the situation;

If you would like to keep the height at 95", you are looking at a special order which would likely get expensive due to the nature of special orders and there will be an upcharge for the height. But it can be done by visting the millwork department of your local store. They can give you an exact quote for your situation.

The other option would be to build the header down to a standard height and use standard size doors which are quite affordable. You could then either;

- Add drywall and finish to match the room.

- Cover the new header and door hardware with decorative or painted wood valance.

- Make a valance that matches or coordinates with the draperies in the room.

Hope that helps and welcome to our community!
