  1. How many gallons of paint does a standard size bedroom need?
  2. Is a quart of paint enough for trimmings and one window frame in a standard size bedroom?

Hey JBrantley,

Thanks for joining us here on the community.

For starters, there really no such thing as a 'standard' size bedroom, or any room for that matter.

But, most interior paints on average can paint in one coat over a primed smooth surface a 12' X 12' room with 2 doors and 2 windows, which comes out to roughly 350 square feet of coverage. If your walls are already painted/primed, one gallon is generally sufficient enough in a light tinted color in that size I previously mentioned.

Depending on the width and sizes of your mouldings and window frame will determine if one quart can cover it. A quart of paint typically covers over a smooth painted/primed surface about 100 square feet, so measure and plan accordingly so you can ensure you will have enough paint as well as supplies for your room.

Let us know if you have any further questions,
