DRIP PAINTING CLAY POTS
Do you have some boring clay pots hanging around? SHECANDOIT22 and I saw a great idea on the web and expanded on it so you can do this at home.
Make sure your pots are dry and clean.
Use tape with paper to cover the bottom hole.
Use spray white primer on the pots, both inside and outside of the pot.
Make sure you have a large work area, -this is fun and messy!
We tried 2 kinds of paint, we used acrylic paints from a craft store, and we got some’ oops’ paint from the paint department at Home Depot. This was an interior paint, so we are going to use those pots inside the home.
We used cardboard inserts to make sure the paint did not settle on the rim of the pot.
What we found out at the end of the process was that we wished we had used clay trays to catch the drips, they were very pretty.
There will take up to 4 days to dry because of all the paint on them, be patient!
These are the ‘oops’ paint from Home Depot.
and the finished product:
I hope you have as much fun making these as we did!
