Drywall thickness for a basement remodel

What drywall thickness is best for a basement remodel? 1/2" or 3/8"? I assumed that 1/2" was standard but I hear of many people using 3/8" these days. Is 3/8" too thin or does it have drawbacks compared to 1/2"

Use 1/2".  A real quick look at Home Depot's site says they're the same price.  1/2" also comes in a wider variety of sizes which can help you minimize seams that need to be taped and mudded.
