Electric Dryer Cord

Is there a adapter to put on the dryer cord, that I can then plug into my regular household outlet? :)

Thank You,

Terri Hall

Most dryers use a 240 volt circuit, while ordinary household receptacles are 120 volt.  The dryer won't run.  You would have to install a 240 volt circuit.

Hi Terri,

Welcome to The Community!

There is no adaptor to convert dryer plugs. If the plug on your dryer does not match the receptacle, it is easier to change the cord from the dryer.

The plug will have either 3 or 4 prongs that fit into the receptacle. When you move into a place that won't accept your plug, come to Home Depot and purchase a dryer cord that fits the new wall receptacle.

Thanks for asking!
