Fan Died Overnight

We woke up this morning and our Carriage House II - 52" Ceiling Fan was off.  The lights do not come on either with the remote or with the pull chain - same thing with the fan.  I checked the breaker - it's fine.  What are you thoughts?  Thanks in advance for your help! - John

Hello BettiJohn and thank you for joining The Community.

Our Hampton Bay team can help you diagnose this problem and find out what is happening with your ceiling fan.  They are here to help; call them at 1-877-527-0313 and select option 2.

You will need to provide the UPC or SKU of the fan.  Select the correct SKU for your fan:

  • Hampton Bay Carriage House 52 in. Indoor Iron Ceiling Fan = Store SKU # 739887
  • Hampton Bay Carriage House 52 in. Indoor Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan = Store SKU # 412761

Best wishes with your project.

HI John.  Good information above.  My thoughts are to first check to see if you have power at the switch and then the fan.  If there is no power at the fan we need to find out why.  Have you ever had mice or squirrels in the attic?  Has lightening ever hit your house?  A simple tester can help...

Stukas,

I took the fan apart and wired up the motor direct bypassing the transmitter.  I have power to the motor, but the motor doesn't work.  It looks like I'll be taking advantage of the lifetime warranty on the motor.  I have Home Depot's toll-free customer service number.  I'll call them on Monday and order a motor.  It won't be hard to replace.

Thanks for responding to my original e-mail.
