Flat or satin paint over semigloss paint

I painted my living room with a semigloss paint, I don't like the resuslts, it's too shinny for me,

Can I paint it again with flat or satin? And can It be a little lighter color?

Please help me, I'm very desapointed .

Advise me with the easiest way to do it, since I have no help.

Hello NPN and welcome to the Community.

Yes, you can use a lighter shade of flat or satin paint but depending on how recently you applied the semi-gloss paint, that may determine the steps you must take to cover it.
Because different manufacturer have different qualities, I would contact the manufacture of the particular paint you applied.

In general a safe practice would be to sand the glossy surface with a 150 to 200 grit sand paper till you visibly see the surface dull.  Then wipe the surface with a clean damp rage to remove any dust residue.
