Framing a 60in Door Frame

I need to frame a 60in interior, non structural door openning.  I understand the 62in openning, but I was wondering about the header.  I can't imagine that a single 2x4 running parrallel with the ground, will provide the support.  I was thinking two 2x4s perpendicular to the ground.  Am I wrong?

You'd need a minimum of a 2x6 for the header.  1/2" plywood between the two pieces of lumber.  A 2x4 is 3 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" thick.  1 1/2 x 2 plus 1/2" will give you 3 1/2.  Otherwise you have a problem when you drywall.
