Getting Warm - Remember to Switch Your Ceiling Fan Direction...

Now that it's getting warmer remember that most ceiling fans spin in TWO directions, and the direction the fan blades spin in will actually cool (or warm) the room differently.  Here are the general rules:

Cooler-Counter-Clockwise (three C's!) for cooling your room.  This will blow air down from the fan, creating a cooling effect.

Warmer-Clockwise (WC) for warming your room by pulling air up towards your fan and pushing the warmer air from your ceiling down the walls of your room.

Most fans have a little switch on the base which can control the direction.

You can read a full explanation and see a video about choosing a ceiling fan direction on my home improvement blog.
