What can I do about my remote ceiling fan that's on each day I return home from work after ensuring it's off befor I leave for work?

Fans have a remote "code" just like garage door openers.  Some just use four little dip switches, others "learn."  Do you live close enough to anyone else (like an apartment) where you neighbor could be turning on/off his fan along with yours?  Try changing the remote code.

Hello Jadie.

If your remote has dip switches, when you change the code on the remote you will also have to match that change on the receiver.  The receiver will be found inside the canopy that hugs the ceiling, so you will have to get inside that canopy in order to do this.
