I have had Allure Vinyl Floor Planks for about 6 months and absolutely LOVE it!!  I now have a problem that I haven't been able to solve.  My housesitter must have used way too much Swiffer Wet-Jet solution on my floors because when I came back from a 2 week vacation, my floors have a greasy film and you can see every foot and paw print that walks on the floors.  I am sick at my stomach because I haven't been able to find a solution.  I've tried vinegar and water and it looks good for about 20 minutes and then you can see foot prints again!  I am beside myself.  I put this flooring in every room of my condo and I can't afford to replace it.  I am in need of some serious help.

Greetings SheliaTerry,

Sorry to hear about the film on your Allure flooring, do you think your house sitter used a wax, or a wood care product on your floor while you were away? Those types of products will leave a film that trap dirt.

Allure has their own contact site for problems, and help for their specific flooring, a live chat specialist is on-line to answer all your questions and concerns.

This is the phone number for the Allure product questions: 1-866-843-8453

I hope this information helps you get started solving your problem, good luck!

Let us know if you have any other questions,     Maureen

Hi SheilaTerry,

Alongside the number that Maureen gave you, have you tried the cleaner made specifically for Allure?

It's linked here and shown below :

Allure Single Step 24 oz. Satin Floor Cleaner and Polish

This comes in a satin finish as well as a gloss. It acts as a finish AND cleaner, made specifically for Allure flooring.

Unfortunately, since you now see every paw and slight scuff mark, you'll continue to see it since a 'problem' has occurred on its surface and its impossible to overlook.

Beyond breaking the habit (once the floor is cleaned), you may want to consider rearranging lighting so that you aren't constantly viewing the sheen for any scuffs or prints left behind.

Make sure when you clean, to do so thoroughly, but with approved cleaners and supplies so you don't permanently damage your floor.
