Hairline cracks in cement board from drilling...normal?

Looking for advice on what to do about very fine hairline cracks in the cement board located above my tub. Husband drilled a hole to hang a frame on the wall and now we are noticing hairline cracks spanning off the hole where he drilled.

Is this normal? Do we need to repair?

Can happen when stud are note even. If they are less than 1/4 inch i wouldn't worry about, if you want you can take thin-set mortar and cover then up you can, take putty knife some thin-set mortar and push it into the cracks and scrap off excess, let dry. If they are larger than ¼ inch use thin-set mortar and fiberglass mesh joint tape.
