Hampton Bay ceiling fan 52A4H4L - can't turn off light with remote

This worked fine for almost a year, and we just put up with it.  Now we need the fan to work without the light on.

Good evening,

Regarding your ceiling fan;  most likely the remote control reciever (located within the fan unit its' self) is the problem. Iin most caeses, you need to replace only the remote control reciever unit. This is not the remote control (hand held unit) its' the reciever unit that make the fan/light work.  If the manufactureure has an 800 Tech Support number, they should be able to help you with purchasing the correct part required.Hhowever, if not, you may need to replace the entire fan.  Some manufactures dont support replacement parts such as these.  Hunter Fans on the other hand, does provide Tech Support and repair/replacemewnt parts. I use only Hunter for this reason. You may pay more for the Hunter but in the long run, it's well worth the cost.  Life time warranty on the motor and 2- to 5 years ( iI belive) on other parts.

Hope this helps with your problem.
