Hampton Bay ceiling fan

I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan. The lights both work but the fan won't turn on. I flipped the direction switch back and forth a few times and it started to work but now I can't get it no matter what. Any ideas what I can do?  I don't remember if there was a warranty but it's been a few years so I may be out of luck. This was a very pricy one too so if I can fix it then i would be very happy.

Hello Sailorrob,

Thanks for your question, welcome to the community.

Since we don't know if your Hampton Bay ceiling fan's issue stem from a capacitor or receiver (if you have a remote control for the fan), your safest bet would be to contact them directly.

You will need to get the model number/SKU/ UPC information first in order to get the right troubleshooting for you fan. It's located on top of the ceiling fan, above the motor housing on a sticker.

Once you obtain this, contact Hampton Bay with the number below.

Keep us updated on your progress, and I hope this information has assisted you.
