Hole in sheetrock

How do I repair a hole in sheetrock?

Hello Saunagirl49.  Thank you for joining the community.

 

   If the hole is not any larger than 4inches in diameter then my favorite “quick – fix” is a self adhesive mesh patch.  It just sticks to the surface of the wall and provides a strong bridge over the hole.  Just apply patching compound over the top, sand and paint.

Smaller holes can just be skimmed over with patching compound (like spackling).  Slightly over fill to allow for shrinking when the product has dried.  Lightly sand and paint over.
