How can I change my stone fireplace??

We aren't very big fans of the circular stone look of our fireplace and would like to change it. It runs the entire length of the room (approx. 12 ft.).  What are some options we have for changing this??  Any help is appreciated! Thanks :)

Hi Rachelradschlag,

There are a number of solutions to your dilemma;

The first that comes to mind is veneer stone such as used or new brick.

We sell in the stores ½ thickness manufactured used brick which could be applied to the stone face of the fireplace.

If you have tired of the stone or brick look, ceramic tile can be used to create a new look, or wood siding or even wood paneling can be applied.

In our home we had a glass company install mirrors on the fireplace mantel and adjoining walls. This gives the room the look of being twice as big due to the reflections of the adjoining walls.

If your budget is tight you could paint over the stone to soften the look and change its’ appearance.

Let us know what you decide to do and send us some photos of the completed project.
