Hi waskied,

Thank you for your question and welcome to our community.

To take the sliders out for cleaning, position the window about ½ ways to fully open, lift up and pull from the bottom of the window to remove the sliding window.  The risk is dropping the window and breaking it!

Be sure to have a good grip on the sides of the window.  Gripping the sides of the slider, gently push up on the frame so that the top of the slider slides into the top of the frame. Then Gently pull out on the bottom of the frame.

Depending on the model of sliding window you have, you may have to open the window fully in order to slide the window up and then out. Take your time to gently remove the window.  Never force the window out.  You may have to remove debris if the window appears stuck or change position from right to left in order lift the slider up, then out.

The fixed window cannot be removed.  Once the slider has been cleaned and dried, use the same method you used to removed the window, in reverse.

The sliders do not have to be removed to clean them.  You can always access the windows from the outside if you are on the first floor.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance to you.
