Hello rdhamilton54!

When removing ceramic tile from a wall around the kitchen counter top, you're best friends will be a mini-sledge hammer and plenty of plastic sheeting, tape, and cardboard.

Start by taping the plastic over the counter top and then cover the plastic with a double layer of cardboard.

Use your mini-sledge, in demolition-party style, to break the tile and remove.

After most tile removals, the wallboard behind the tile is not worth saving.

Simply budget for tile backer and screws to replace the wallboard and make a backing for your new backsplash / wall.

NOTE:

This project can actually be fun ... but don't have too much fun and forget to wear eye protection and gloves.

If you like, turn on your favorite music really LOUD!
