How do I resurface my concrete front porch?

My front porch is concrete and the paint has peeled and cracked.  I need to redo it but would like to know what type of paint is available and if I need to do any prep work before painting it.

Without seeing it,  about all I can say is to get the old paint as much as completely off, to as close to the concrete as possible. This might be best done with a high powered pressure washer (3000+ PSI), and these can be rented / borrowed. Then use a concrete sealer / primer, then a good concrete paint, which you can roll on or brush on where necessary.  You really need to get rid of the old, then move on with the new. Don't paint over the old. I've used the Behr concrete primer and paint on my driveway, and it has worked very well. I also had a pressure washer to clean the driveway, but the driveway was not previously painted. You really want to get as much of this old paint off as you can. Start fresh! Best wishes :)
