How do i replace a plank of Lifeproff LVT Flooring

I am still in the process of installing our new floor and have a deep gouge from barely sliding my couch 3" (NOT COOL, starting to wonder if I made the right choice of flooring, DISAPPOINTED before its even installed).  Is there a process for plank replacement without removing all the boards that lock in this plank?

Howdy Buckfever31,

1. Drill some holes a few inches in from each corner of the damaged plank.

2. Cut between the holes to allow the middle “square” of the board to remove. This will leave you with a plank that has the middle missing.

3). Carefully cut to the outside corners of the hollowed plank and remove the edge pieces that are freed.

4). Assuming you have a tongue in groove flooring, you will need to cut a portion of the groove on the side of the replacement board away so that it can slip into place.

5). Carefully glue the edges of the replacement board and fit into place. Make sure  to clean away any excess glue after it is fitted into place. You do NOT want to glue the bottom of the boards. This is a floating floor and you do not want to glue it down.

Hello buckfever31 and welcome to the Community.

You have to undo and work back to the damaged plank.

Thank you for your inquiry.
