How do you repair a melted section of inside of a freezer?

ONe of our kids nuked a cloth bag of rice to the melting point of glass and put it in the freezer to cool down.  It melted away a 4" X 4" area down to the insultation and showing some wires.  Can I repair that with Epoxy or some sort of adhesive?

That's Really Hot tommc49!!!

SAFETY FIRST!

Since the heat melted the surrounding materials, I would suspect that the insulation on the electrical wires could be damaged as well. Replacing or repairing these wires before covering the damage would be my first concern!

MY BEST RECOMMENDATION: contact the appliance service company for your brand and have their technician review and repair the damage ... just to be certain you don't cover up a fire hazard.
