Hi Qu,

Plastic will deteriorate when placed in a high heat environment such as an attic. The plastic becomes dried out and brittle.

If left untouched they will stay in tact for some time. But after years of exposure to high heat, they will often crack and fall apart when opened or moved.

Despite this ageing problem, they still are a better choice than cardboard boxes for long term storage.
