How to Bring New Life to Old Chain-Link Fence

Howdy all,

If you have a chain link fence around your property it can be an eyesore to look at and not a joy to your neighbors as well. After taking a trip across the country I saw some great ideas for sprucing up your boring chain link fence.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS JOB:

Tools

Materials

Jigsaw

Marker

Wire cutters

Paint brush

drill

Paint (outdoor)

Tie wire

4x8 foot plywood

sandpaper

Start by drawing; birds, water, clouds, animals, mountains, or anything else you can think of on large sheets of plywood with a marker. If your fence is six feet or more, your cutout should be at least 4 feet to get a bold look.

Next it’s time to use the jigsaw to cutout the shapes and sand the edges to get semi smooth. Don’t worry too much about detail because the paint needs a rough surface to make a good bond.

Now drill about five or six holes in various places. Finally use the tie wire to attach the cutouts to the fence. Spacing in the middle of the fence will give you the best look.

So here are a few ideas that I came up with to make for a chain link fence.

Happy Building,
