Hello melaniej and welcome to The Community.  We are glad that you are here.

Could you provide more information about the broken ceramic floor tile?  Is it in a high traffic area or an inconspicuous place?  Usually it is best – both visually and for safety – to replace the tile.  Our post, I have a few ceramic floor tiles cracked, what do I have to do to replace them, gives detailed advise on replacing the broken tiles.

If the tiles are in an infrequently used area, or you will not be able to replace the tiles soon, consider placing a rug or mat over the space.  Ensure that no tiles stick “up” to create a trip hazard and be sure that no sharp areas are exposed to bare feet.

Best wishes on your project.
