How to prevent water leak into old gopher hole?

I have flood irrigation.  When the yard is flooded, water leaks into an old gopher hole.

I plugged it up with soil, but that didn't last.

Do you have experience solving this problem?

Hello harveyfaber. Ken here in the Chicago area. Welcome to the Community!!!

The first and labor intensive way is to refill with dirt and tamp it down with a broom

handle and repeat until it is filled. NOT FUN!!!

I went online and found a product called Tunnel Fill. It is a way to get rid of gophers

by pouring the product down the hole and running water down the hole until the

product expands to fill the tunnel. Here is the link to what I found. Keep us posted.
